What is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
So you have gotten a website built thinking very carefully about the design and content and you are confident you have said everything you need to say about your business…..so If you build it they will come right?……………well, not exactly!
Search engines have a database of literally billions of websites and though you may think you have a unique corner of the market, chances are that you are one of very many similar businesses selling a similar product. For example, say you design T-Shirts with the coolest designs out there and you have gorgeous images of these shirts on your website. You know that when people see the pictures of those shirts on your site everyone is going to want them and you will be a massive success. But how does Google know how cool they are? Google doesn’t understand pictures and if your content says that you are selling cool T-Shirts, how many other websites do you think are saying exactly the same thing?
That’s were SEO comes in. SEO is the practice of promoting a website to increase the number of visitors the site receives from search engines.
How does SEO work?
